THE FOUNDING STORY
Enterprise IT, without the enterprise politics
Before founding inc-sys in 2001, Don OBrill spent years working in IT at large and mid-sized corporations. He was good at the work — but he kept running into the same obstacle: company politics slowing down the decisions that actually helped people.
The answer was to step outside the org chart entirely. As an independent partner, inc-sys could focus entirely on what the business actually needed — without internal friction, turf battles, or bureaucracy.
There was also a larger opportunity Don saw clearly: small and mid-sized businesses had the same technology needs as enterprises but none of the resources. Cloud computing didn’t exist yet. SMB-grade solutions were limited. Don built inc-sys to bridge that gap — bringing enterprise-grade IT thinking to businesses that had never had access to it before.
